My NaNoWriMo Tips

November 1, 2016

Here is a section of a post I wrote after completing my first novel in 2011:

It was one hell of a month and a very big challenge for me. This was something I had never dared to do before. I barely ever finish stories, much less full length novels!

Here are my tips for doing NaNoWriMo from personal experience:

- Write an outline. Seriously. You'll never know how valuable it is to you until the month starts and you have nothing to write about. Trust me when I say this because I had no outline and ...

Shadow Blades - Wattpad Exclusive

June 18, 2016
In 2011 I wrote Eternal Darkness. In 2012 I wrote its sequel, Shadow Blades during Camp Nanowrimo. I made the monumental mistake of handwriting 50,000 words. In the years since I have slowly tried to type up Shadow Blades so it can have the readership I feel it deserves. So, over the next few months I'll be typing the whole thing up. It may be messy. It may be strange. But at least it is finally going to see the light of day, and I'm glad to share this journey with you all.

Why am I giving ...

Genre is hip, Genre sells

Why Genre is Important When Writing a Novel

It is amusing how genre is one of the defining aspects of a novel. The novel and genre are so intrinsically linked. In Review: Jasper Jones

February 12, 2013
Jasper Jones

The writing style of Jasper Jones was great but the plot could have easily been finished in 150 pages just because it is so lacking in content. As much as I loved the witty dialogue between Charlie and Jeffery it wasn't enough to make me love the book and it grew very annoying towards the end and repetitive.

Big spoiler here: this book is so predictable. As soon as Charlie mentions Eliza and how different she looks you instantly know that she knows something/had something to do with it. Also ...

Covers!

February 9, 2013
I have released the covers for the up-and-coming novels of mine, Shadow Blades and Rose Thorns. You can go to their respective pages to check them out.

In my opinion I think they are great, not to be boastful or anything. I made them myself and I would like to give a big shout out to all the folks on Deviantart.com. Without their stock I couldn't have brought you these amazing covers.

In other news I have been working very hard on Shadow Blades. I actually wrote the first draft in August of l...
